Joshua “Josh” Carlin (he/him)
Joshua serves as the Wisconsin GOTV Program Manager at Rise, where he leads efforts to mobilize student voters and strengthen civic engagement across campuses. Previously, he worked as a Lead Campus Organizer, focusing on voter outreach, relational organizing, and empowering students to advocate for equitable policies. His dedication to amplifying student voices stems from his belief that access to education and civic participation are fundamental tools for systemic change.
Joshua earned his Bachelor of Arts in Communications (TV, Radio, and Film) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he honed his skills in storytelling, public speaking, and community engagement. His academic background informs his innovative approach to organizing and advocacy, blending creative communication with strategic planning.
At Rise, Joshua has cultivated leadership skills in critical thinking, team management, and coalition building, all while fostering an inclusive and collaborative work environment. His passion lies in bridging the gap between student needs and policy solutions, ensuring that those most impacted by systemic challenges are actively involved in driving change.
In his free time, Joshua enjoys creating music, exploring the outdoors, and spending time with loved ones. His work at Rise reflects his commitment to empowering individuals and communities to advocate for a better future.
