Marc Banks (he/him)
is a seasoned communications strategist and brand advisor with over a decade of experience shaping narratives at the intersection of politics, culture, and social impact. Known for his ability to distill complex issues into compelling stories, Marc has led transformative communications efforts across the political, nonprofit, and entertainment sectors.
He began his career at Radio One in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he supported community engagement and communications. His trajectory quickly advanced to Capitol Hill, where he contributed to national media strategy in the press office of U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand.
After leaving Capitol Hill, Marc led a major rebranding initiative for the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF) and served as National Press Secretary for the NAACP. In that role, he helped forge groundbreaking partnerships with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and the Webby Awards—efforts that tackled inequities in media and tech while elevating underrepresented voices.
In 2022, Marc returned to his home city, Atlanta, GA, to serve in a senior communications role on Stacey Abrams’ historic gubernatorial campaign. By 2024, he was tapped as Deputy Communications Director for the presidential campaign of Vice President Kamala D. Harris.
Marc holds a B.A. in Public Relations from Northern Kentucky University and studied Strategic Communications at American University. Today, he continues to advise mission-driven organizations and campaigns, bringing together storytelling, strategy, and cultural insight to drive lasting impact.
