was the Rise Program Manager for the Student Navigator Network at USC. After obtaining a B.A. from U.C. Santa Cruz, Melissa began an apprenticeship at Public Allies Los Angeles, a social justice-focused leadership development program. Her career experience includes working with the unhoused community, foster youth, and survivors of domestic violence. She is now taking prerequisite classes at East Los Angeles College with the aim of applying for a Master’s in Social Work. Melissa has a passion for supporting the development and collective healing of communities of color.
