Kimberly “Kim” Pickens, Ed.D. (she/her)
is a Program Manager of the Student Navigator Network at Rise. In addition, she serves as an adjunct professor at Southern University and Louisiana State University. Kim is committed to fulfilling her passion for removing barriers to educational success for all students. She is a graduate of Grambling State University. Most notably, she made history as one of the first graduates, first Black, first female, first to graduate with a biological sibling, and youngest graduate of the Doctor of Education in Leadership degree in history at Louisiana State University Shreveport. She is an avid researcher, who has presented and published nationally in the areas of Diversity and Inclusion, Student Affairs, and Homelessness in College. Kimberly is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated. She has been recognized as a “Gold Metal Giver” for her work as a mentor through Volunteers of America and is an advocate for survivors of domestic violence.
