Carl Austin Miller Grondin

is a Rise Michigan Fellow and a junior at James Madison College in Michigan State University and is majoring in Social Relations and Policy with minors in Peace and Justice studies and Political Science. Carl Austin started with Rise because of the lack of Political knowledge he has seen through his generation. Understanding our electoral process and helping others become more aware of the structural problems our Nation faces resonates with Carl Austin because he has seen first hand the structural injustices many face daily. Carl Austin wants to be a part of the change in his generation’s abysmal voter turnout, and to help his generation know that WE have a say in our Representative Democracy. We as a collective can change the trajectory that our country is going, and that it starts by electing leaders that share our common beliefs and fight for us.
